The Irish Hepatitis C Outcomes Research Network is delighted to announce the awardee of the ICORN HCV Research Pharmacist Bursary 2016-2018

Icorn HCV Research Pharmacy Bursary

Following a rigorous selection process, chaired by Dr. Diarmaid Houlihan, Consultant Hepatologist and Chair of the ICORN Research Group, Miriam Coghlan, Pharmacist at St. James’s Hospital was selected for the ICORN HCV Pharmacist Research Bursary. Miriam’s project is entitled: Validation of a pre-treatment pharmacist assessment complex intervention tool.

Launched in late 2016, the ICORN HCV Research Pharmacy Bursary was awarded on the basis of a competition open to qualified pharmacists currently employed in the Irish Health Services in the field of HCV, and who wished to undertake a HCV research project and/or participate in a HCV post-graduate educational course/conference, aimed at improving care delivery and outcomes for people living with HCV. Research undertaken was to focus on efficient healthcare delivery at the point of care i.e. hospital or community setting.

The main objectives of the Bursary Programme are: (i) To encourage and support Pharmacist-led HCV research focused on improving care delivery outcomes for people living with HCV in Ireland; and/or (ii) To contribute to the development of pharmacist practice and patient care in the hospital and/or associated community services.

*ICORN Bursaries are supported by grants provided by AbbVie Ireland (ABBVIE)
